Na de herdenking van 60 jaar Universele Verklaring van de Rechten van de Mens op 10 december 2008 en het evenement dat VVN voor deze gelegenheid organiseerde te Brussel sloegen verschillende instanties en partners de handen in elkaar om hier ook aandacht aan te schenken in 2009, Jaar van de Mensenrechteneducatie.
